 <title>Member Section Steering Committee Welcomes New StC Members</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;We are pleased to announce the results of the recent election for the Emergency Interoperability (EI) Member Section Steering Committee openings. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Jeff Waters of U.S. Department of Defense, Rex Brooks and Rob Torchon were elected to the EI Member Section Steering Committee.  They will begin their two year term during the next Steering Committee meeting on 14 June 2013 with continuing Steering Committee members William Kalin, Donald McGarry, Tom Ferrentino, and Elysa Jones.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>EI Member Section Steering Committee Nomination &amp; Election Update</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Three seats on the OASIS Emergency Interoperability (EI) Member Section (MS) Steering Committee are open for nominations. All EI MS participants are invited to nominate qualified candidates and/or serve on the Steering Committee. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Since sufficient candidates have not been identified by the nominations closing date; therefore the nomination period will be extended by two weeks until 29  April 2013.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>CAP Implementation Workshop</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) is promoted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and others as the foundation standard for public alerting in societies worldwide. CAP is an OASIS standard adopted as ITU-T Recommendation X.1303.  Another in the series of CAP Implementation Workshops will be held at the WMO in Geneva, 23-24 April 2013. Also, on  the day following the Workshop, 25 April, WMO is offering &amp;quot;CAP Jump Start&amp;quot; training in the same venue, open to anyone interested.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>2012 Emergency Standards Round-up</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;OASIS plans to organize an “Emergency Standards Round-up” on the exhibit floor of the Emergency Management &amp;amp; Homeland Security Expo (EMEX), held in conjunction with the annual conference of the International Association of Emergency Managers IAEM.  This round-up is&lt;br /&gt;
designed to provide companies showcasing applications and tools in support of the Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) suite of&lt;br /&gt;
standards more visibility during the event. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Participation is open to all confirmed EMEX exhibitors. Participating companies must have products that support specific&lt;/p&gt;
